Here's how I can help or provide care and companionship

  • Visiting someone at home (or in a home)
  • Assisting with day-to-day tasks around the home
  • Helping with preparing meals, cooking, cleaning, washing and ironing
  • Helping with admin, appointments and making phone calls
  • Accompanying or taking someone on a walk, outing, or to a social event
  • Accompanying or taking someone shopping (and help with organising and carrying)
  • Accompanying or taking someone to appointments, hairdresser, hospital or GP
  • Being of assistance with pets, like helping to take a dog for a walk or to the vet
  • Assistance with pursuing some hobbies
  • Simple companionship and friendship
  • By 'checking in' to make sure everything is okay or if there is anything you need
  • Assist by being a key holder.

"My parents absolutely loved your company and I'm sure your visits did them the world of good."

I can provide assistance with your home care needs as and when required, on a daily basis or for as little as just an hour a week.

Why choose help and care at home?

We all love our homes, they are where we feel the happiest and the most comfortable and where we would like to be.

"We are so grateful to you for enabling our parents to remain at home..."

But sometimes, unforeseen circumstances arise that make staying at home a worry. Challenges such as illness, recent surgery, hospital stays, decreasing mobility, bereavement or just feeling 'under the weather'. Sometimes loved ones may be too far away to help regularly.

Knowing you can call on the same reliable, trustworthy and hardworking person in the familiar surroundings of your own home can be hugely reassuring and comforting. Sometimes just that extra support for an hour or two a week can make all the difference in being able to maintain one's freedom and independence.

"...I cannot praise Rosemary enough."

About me

My name is Rosemary Nicholls. I have lived in Salisbury with my husband and two daughters for 27 years. I know Salisbury, the city centre and the surrounding area very well. I also spent some of my youth in the area as my father was in the army and often posted locally.

I have been a nurse for the past 40 years. I worked as a school nurse in a girl's boarding school, caring for both day and boarding pupils, for most of my time in Salisbury.

I started providing care and a support for people at home five and a half years ago, and it has been so rewarding and enjoyable.

It came about because having looked after my parents, in-laws and neighbours I began to see what a difference just a little simple help, companionship and support made to their quality of life, independence, confidence and well-being.

"I simply do not know how we, or my mother would cope without you."
